Content and SEL are not two totally different focuses in your school or classroom, nor should they be. SEL interweaves easily into content and the culture of the classroom and school overall. Through this lens, we interweave SEL in a variety of content areas, primarily with a focus on social studies/history & Literature/Language Arts. Get ready to be a part of an experience that allows you to teach and where students have lightbulb moments, while achieving the culture of a classroom that supports, thrives, and achieves!
Trauma, Turbulence & Tumbleweeds: Building Strength & Resileincy through Adversity
Triggers. We all have them. It can be an event from our childhood, a moment in time that took us by surprise, or something we thought wasn't a big deal, yet it is. Our students have stories and many of them consist of things no child should experience. Through this insightful and head-on session, we face our student's stories & embrace ways to help them through the trauma & turbulence so they take the tumbleweed that makes up their story and use it as unimaginable strength. We accomplish this tough topic through empathy & understanding the brain sciences. Walk in wondering what you can do, but leave knowing you are the answer!
